New series of machine socket outlets
A new series of socket outlets ushers in a new era of SCHUKO plug connections. As a result of the new DIN/VDE 0620-1 from February 1, 2010, all socket outlets used for applications with mobile coupling plugs (e.g. for ground-spike applications) must fulfil the IPX4 degree of protection with and without plugs inserted and in the most unfavourable operating positions. The inventor of the SCHUKO plug system, ABL SURSUM, has used this as an opportunity to develop a completely new socket outlet. This socket made of highly impact-resistant modified thermoplastic enables wire connection (also with ferrules) up to 2.5 mm² and can also be used for areas of application with difficult conditions. What is so special about this socket is the sealing edge made of extremely sealing, thermoplastic elastomer guaranteeing the IPX4 degree of protection. This new application enables the user to optionally connect the cables from 3 sides and, if required, loop them through without any problems. The new socket is also available as a special version with increased touch protection.
