New series of ABL SURSUM miniature circuit breakers according to UL 489

ABL SURSUM has included a new series of miniature circuit breakers according to UL 489, "listed circuit breakers", in their range of products. The product portfolio of switching devices according to UL certification is thereby supplemented by a substantial product group. "Listed circuit breakers" according to UL 489 are suitable for "feeders" and "branch circuit protection". This means that any circuits (from the current source to the load socket outlet) may be fused using these devices. Their use no longer has to be approved by a UL inspector. Any electrician can therefore carry out installation.

The switching devices according to UL 489 will be available as 1, 2 and 3-pole-type versions from 0.3 to 63 amperes and with C and D characteristics. Attachments such as neutral switches, auxiliary contacts and shunt trips are furthermore available for this system. The devices can be interconnected thanks to a newly-developed busbar system.

The areas of application range from supplementary circuit breakers to manual motor circuit breakers, applications for power circuits, the protection of heating devices – refrigerating and air-conditioning systems – up to socket outlets and lighting. In addition to the switching devices according to UL 489, ABL SURSUM also supplies other switching devices according to UL 508.
